PreView in the Mining Industry
When the engineers at Preco began their design concept of the PreView Radar system for proximity detection, they looked to the industry with the most rugged conditions and the largest blind spots. Of course, that set our sights on the mining industry.The Blind Spot: If you think your car has a blind spot, imagine needing a ladder to get to the ladder that gets you to the driver seat – now THAT is a blind spot. These aren’t vehicles, they are machines that can run over a standard sized truck and it feels like a speed bump. PreView Radar’s detection zones span to 32 ft/10 M. We chose this distance to give the best coverage without the annoyance of nuisance alarms.
Technology Highlights
- Durability - Tested to comply with the SAE 1455 environmental specification.
- Simplicity - Contains only three basic component: sensors, in-cab displays, and the cable that connects them.
- Flexibility - Easily integrates with other safety systems such as cameras, reverse alarms and reversing lights. And, with custom cable lengths, sensors can be placed at many points around the vehicle for overlapping coverage.
- Customizability - The Xtreme sensor can detect objects up to 32 feet from the sending unit, and can be modified to detect custom ranges within that distance.
- Usability - In-cab display offers three audible settings to meet in-cab noise level requirements, and the L.E.D.s are easily visible night and day.
